Controversial child sex abuse cases will be discussed and examined at a public meeting at Huddersfield University.
Dr Bernard Gallagher from the university will draw upon research into child sexual abuse and explore what we, as professionals and members of the public have learnt, if anything about this problem over recent years.
He will speak on controversial cases such as Hamzah Khan, the four year old boy who was recently starved to death by his mother in Bradford, and earlier this year when the aftermath of the Jimmy Savile case saw the launch of a petition about the mandatory reporting of child sex abuse.
The lecture will also examine the implications for educating the public about child sex abuse and the adoption of a more general public health response.
It is scheduled to be held at 6.30pm 11/12/13.
Huddersfield Examiner have the lecture as taking place tomorrow, I shall be on the phone to correct them on that. lol
I have booked my place and shall be attending, my own research in hand.
