Boys found in Cellar

Two children were forced to live in the cellar of a home in France for as long as three years, it is being reported.
The brothers, aged 10 and 12, were rescued from their squalid living conditions after the older boy escaped and raised the alarm, according to French media.
It was reported by the bfmtv.com website that officers who raided the home in Seine-Saint-Denis, just outside Paris, found the two boys had to sleep on a bare mattress on the ground.
A source close to the investigation said the children lived among piles of rubbish, had no access to tap water or any toilet facilities and were undernourished.
Le Parisien said the boys' father also subjected them to physical abuse with a belt.
The father reportedly lived in the house with his partner and at least one of her children, who was not thought to have been badly treated.
Both the boys' father and stepmother were charged over the weekend with the abuse of a minor, neglect and deprivation of food.
They were both remanded in custody.
According to reports, social services and the children's school were monitoring the pair following tip-offs about their plight.
Both boys are said to have been taken into care while the investigation takes place.

Response to Pallial Report

I know many of you have been waiting patiently most of the day for me to comment on the Interim report on Operation Pallial.
I have sat back and tried to view the report objectively, taking into account the magnitude of the investigation and the time lapse, the problems faced in identifying victims and suspects being just some of the issues I tried to consider.
I have seen several negative comments regarding the report yet very few positive.
This in itself seems to have prompted yet further disheartening feedback from the next batch of readers/comments.

Whilst yes, some of the statements made within the report are generalised, others do not go far enought.

The key missing element being Cotsbrook Hall in Telford.
This Children's Home was purchased by and run under the staffing and management of Bryn Alyn Community.
Staff would go to Telford, or vice versa to cover shifts for staff shortages or holidays etc. There would be a bit of a bonus in their wage packets for the inconvenience and, half the time it would be a "sleep-over". Staff would arrive, make sure all were settled or settling for the night, have a drink and chill a bit, before going to bed. Next morning they would oversee breakfast, jump in the car and head home.
None of the activities or abuses within this home, operated by the same staff under investigation in Wales, are being considered by the police investigation or the Macur review.
North Wales police today dmitted they are investigating the historic abuse in 18 homes. That means they are completely discounting 1/19th of the evidence against these vile men and women that have been allowed to prey on children for decades.

There are a couple of minor issues that are in conflict with the claims of the report, but at the moment I am not at liberty to divulge these as they relate to personal ongoing police matters and I have no wish to jeapordise these, for anyone.

On the whole, this Interim, Phase 1 report is about the best that could have been hoped for. It highlights their focus, it shows several of the areas overlooked and gives victims and support workers something to work with and some idea what page everyone is on, while the investigation moves forward into Phase 2.

As the police said in 2012, this investigation is liable to take months if not years.

April Jones; The Mark Bridger Trial

The actions of the man accused of abducting and murdering five-year-old April Jones were sexually motivated, a jury at Mold Crown Court has heard.
April went missing near her home in Machynlleth on 1 October 2012.
Mark Bridger, 47, from Ceinws, Machynlleth, Powys, denies abducting and murdering April, and intending to pervert the course of justice.
April's blood and fragments of bone had been found at Mr Bridger's home, prosecutor Elwen Evans said.
She said the defendant had gone to enormous lengths to conceal what he had done, adding: "He has played a cruel game in pretending not to know what he has done to her and with her. It is a game to try and save himself."
The court heard Mr Bridger's computer contained images of child sex abuse as well as photographs of local children. His computer records also showed he had an interest in child murder cases.
Search terms Mr Bridger used on his computer included "naked young five year old girls" and "nudism five-year-old".
He had images of the Soham murder victims Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman on his computer, the court heard.
On the day April was abducted he viewed a pornographic cartoon, apparently depicting rape.
Blood evidence
The jury heard Mr Bridger undertook an "extensive clean-up operation" at his home which included the disposal of April's body and her clothes.
However, some evidence remained. Blood found in the living room, hallway and bathroom matched April's DNA.
Ms Evans told the court that bone fragments found in fire ashes at his home were consistent with bone fragments from a juvenile human skull, according to experts.
A concentration of blood was found near the wood burner at Mr Bridger's home. Around the wood burner were a number of knives, one of which was badly burned.
The prosecution said Mr Bridger claimed he was involved in a road traffic accident with April, then put her in a car to get her medical attention "although he did not in fact approach anyone for help".
He claimed he drove around Machynlleth, an account which the prosecution said was undermined by the evidence, including CCTV.
He said there came a time when he was driving around when he had no recollection of what happened.
Mr Bridger also said he was too drunk to remember but he believed he put her somewhere out of the rain.
He denied taking her to his home and said he did not sexually abuse her.
Ms Evans said April was last seen on 1 October last year "happy and smiling" getting into the defendant's Land Rover.
"He drove her away and that was the last that anyone apart from the defendant saw of April.
She added: "The largest search in British policing history has failed to find her."
The court heard April's best friend saw her talking to Mr Bridger on the day she went missing and witnessed her getting into his car.
Mr Bridger remained staring straight ahead throughout evidence.
Prosecution said the evidence was "all too relevant" and may help provide a "key to understanding what he did and why he did what he did".
Earlier, Mr Bridger wearing grey trousers, a short-sleeved blue shirt and tie and flanked by two prison guards, stood and listened as each jury member swore their oath.

An artist's impression of Mark Bridger in court on Monday
The prosecution's opening speech is expected to continue into Wednesday.
The jury will to go to Machynlleth on Thursday to visit various sites.
April's parents Coral and Paul Jones were seated in the front row of the public gallery throughout the morning's proceedings, which included legal argument and jury selection.
Both were wearing pink ribbons, which became the symbol of the search for their missing daughter following her disappearance.
The trial adjourned for lunch at 13:00 BST.
The trial could last until the middle of June.

uPSD were primarily responsible for unmasking West Yorkshire Police paedophile, DC Michael Vause. Working with the Yorkshire Post‘s Rob Waugh we were able to propagate this nationwide news story. Without that publicity, Vause would have disappeared into retirement with his vile tendencies unknown to the wider public. Indeed, it became apparent only very recently that residents in the tiny village of Wentbridge, Pontefract where Vause lived, at the time of his conviction, were blissfully unaware they had a child abuser in their midst. Mainly due to the local Pontefract & Castleford Express newspaper steadfastly refusing to cover the story of the second convicted Pontefract police paedophile in the past few years.
A CID detective for most of his career and a bent one at that according to one very reliable account, Vause ended up in the police Professional Standards Department investigating other suspected paedophiles, would you believe? One of those West Yorkshire Police officers he investigated, a Police Band member, was alleged to have abused his own child. The accusations were made by the suspect’s own wife, but he was cleared by Vause. The same Band playing officer also perjured himself at Crown Court in Bradford but has faced no action yet from his own Force. That may well change, in the near future, as an outside police force investigation is now under way that will highlight that criminality.

During a Section 18 search of a fellow police officer’s home, the paedophile Michael Thomas Vause removed a CD containing images of young children. Those were nephews and nieces of the officer under suspicion. Despite strenuous requests for an audit trail of the precise movements of that CD whilst in Vause’s possession, his PSD protectors have steadfastly refused to provide comfort that Vause still does not hold a copy of that CD. They were aided and abetted in that deceit both by West Yorkshire Police Authority’s Fraser Sampson, to whom the officer turned to for help, and Force Solicitor and Police Band member, Mike Percival. The latter-named will also feature in the Rogue Solicitors area of our site.
A third West Yorkshire Police paedophile was arrested after child images were found on his computer.  A criminal file was prepared for the CPS but no charges were preferred and the inspector (a former custody sergeant in Wakefield) was allowed to retire on full pension. uPSD are aware of the identity of this individual and our enquiries continue.
The fourth and fifth West Yorkshire Police paedophiles are named as ex-PC’s Christopher Snowand Michael Conlon.
Snow of Headingley, Leeds was jailed in 2011. He was sent down for 3 years and nine months, for a string of sex offences against children, including inciting a child into sexual activity. He was already the subject of a child sexual offences restraining order. He had resigned from the police after the first set of offences came to light in 2006. Judge Christopher Batty described Snow as ‘devious in his grooming of teenage girls’. The children were aged between 13 and 15.
Conlon was sent down for making and possessing indecent child images, grooming and attempting sexual activity with a child. Jailing Conlon for two-and -a-half years, The Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier QC told him: “It’s aggravated because you used the fact you were a police officer to build some measure of trust.” Conlon served five years with West Yorkshire Police, ending in 2009.
Conlon was based at Killingbeck police station, the same location as ‘Inspector  5′  Mick Starkey(see Jimmy Savile paedophile news page here). We cannot let the mention of Starkey pass without mentioning Sergeant, and now infamous ‘Blobby Bobby’Matt Appleyard, another paedophile and rapist protector who is still a serving officer at the notorious Wetherby NPT (more on them here).
Killingbeck was also where one of the the infamous and illicit trysts between Rogue Officers  DCIElizabeth Belton and C/Supt Ian Whitehouse took place and the base of most of the bent West Yorkshire Police officers involved in the huge, and now notorious, Operation Douglas corruption scandal.
Some of those cases on West Yorkshire Police’s roll of paedophile shame are historic but, nonetheless, significant as they involve former police officers who did not have their names listed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
A disgraced Halifax police officer, who was stationed at Richmond Close Police Station, sexually abused a young girl and was jailed for four years at Leeds Crown Court in Febuary 2004. Peter Newton had served with West Yorkshire Police for more than 29 years admitted six offences of indecent assault against the girl who was aged 11 when the offences began.
Newton was not put on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and his name will be removed next year unless the decision is challenged.  He had abused the girl over a period of four years. When Newton first groped and kissed the girl, she was too frightened to tell anyone. The nature of the offending got progressively worse including touching the girl’s private parts and simulating a sex act with her. Newton’s offending came to light when the abused girl confided in a teacher. Passing sentence, Mr Justice Wakerley said the case represented an enormous breach of trust.
West Yorkshire Police probationary officer, Simon Dagger, downloaded pictures of naked children from an American pornography site and was snared by police in the Operation Ore crackdown on internet child pornography. Appearing at Leeds Crown Court in April 2003, 24-year-old Dagger, from Pontefract, wept when he was told he would not be jailed for having around 45 indecent images of children stored on his computer. DC Mick Vause (see above) was also from Pontefract and, like Vause, Dagger received a three-year Community Rehabilitation Order with a condition of attendance on a sex-offender treatment programme.
The Court was told that Dagger accessed the child images from a ‘library’ of around 8,000 photographs stored on the computer. The vast majority were legal adult material with a handful of images involving children falling into the most serious category. He admitted five sample charges of possessing indecent images of children and was ordered to sign the sex-offender register for five years (ending 2008).
Dagger was adamant that he didn’t get any sexual gratification from these images and it was his curiosity which spiralled out of control. Paedophile Vause also produced the same excuse with his famous line to the Judge: ‘Curiosity killed the cat, Ma’am’
Now we uncover, in March 2013, yet another pervert that is running loose in the community who formerly worked for a significant period of his police career at Killingbeck, the same police station as PC Michael Conlon (see above). PC 3917 Gary Simpson, aged 41, was convicted in March 2010 on 20 charges of making and possessing indecent images under the Protection of Children Act 1978. He was also made the subject of a Sex Prevention Order under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. His computer was also confiscated which is a concern as it is known that at least one paedophile was operating at the time in the Professional Standards Department of West Yorkshire Police. DCMichael Vause has since been convicted of child pornography offences.
A jail term indicates that the images discovered on Simpson’s hard drive were of a serious nature as only Level 4 or Level 5 images would normally attract a custodial sentence. Simpson was unmasked as a paedophile only when he showed the images to a fellow officer, who reported his concerns to supervisors.
The latest two West Yorkshire Police officers to be arrested on sex offences by their own Professional Standards officers are PCSO Liam Austerfield, a Wakefield Division NPT officer who was suspended in early April 2013 pending the outcome of criminal enquiries and then resigned just one week later. Austerfield was involved at the Brick House Youth Club in Ossett and uPSD understand that the alleged offences are connected to those duties. He was subsequently re-arrested for possession of indecent material shortly after the first arrest which, uPSD understands, followed a search of his home and siezing of Austerfield’s property, including his computer.
Response officer, PC Kevin Ellis from Castleford was arrested in mid-April after child porn images were found on his computer. He committed suicide the day after he was released on bail. For full story on the background to the arrest of Ellis click here. Once again, Ellis’s local newspaper the aforementioned Pontefract & Castleford Express are happy to ignore the potential connection with the other two police officer paedophiles in a relatively small circulation area but gave substantial coverage to the jailing of a 75 year old paedophile member of the public.
This takes the West Yorkshire Police paedophile count to ten, if Austerfield is convicted, and uPSD fully expect more police paedophiles to be unmasked in the coming weeks, as our network of informants/investigators grows. We have a very strong lead concerning another Pontefract CID colleague of Vause’s, with a predeliction for under-age girls, who also lived in a village close to Vause’s Wentbridge home.
Throughout this process of exposing West Yorkshire Police child abusers we have been obstructed at every turn by West Yorkshire Police, and their devious co-conspirators at the Police Authority, but this is an issue of massive public interest and importance, particularly in the light of Jimmy Savile operating unfettered in Leeds for over 40 years by his local police force. Police & Crime Commissioner, Mark Burns-Williamson, occupied the Chairman’s seat at the now defunct and disgraced West Yorkshire Police Authority during the entire period when these paedophiles have been exposed and has, on the face of it, chosen to look the other way. Burns Williamson also lives in Castleford, significantly enough.
Burns-Williamson’s Vice Chair was dodgy long-term Leeds City Councillor and ex-Mayor of Leeds,Les Carter. What did he know about Jimmy Savile’s rape and paedophile activities over the entire 40 years he has been a Councillor. Nothing at all, Mr Carter?

Office for Children's Commissioner For Wales - Racist?

I got a phone call today from a lady at the Office for the Children's Commissioner for Wales.
She quickly ran through a checklist to make sure I had Mental Health support in place and then suggested to me that, in future, should I find I had further concerns relating to my time in Care in Wales, I should direct them at the English Children's Commissioner.
This took me a little by surprise as the two guys I had been dealing with from that office had always been willing and happy to speak with me, listen to my concerns and offer any advise they could as to how to go about solving my issues.
I quickly explained that I had been a Welsh resident during my time in a Welsh children's home, which was under investigation by a Welsh Police Force.
At this point she interrupted to tell me that I did not fall under their remit, as I was born in England, so I was the English Commissioner's responsibility and any future enquiries should be directed there.
I then interrupted to again respond with the fact the abuse happened in a Welsh home. I also added that the English Commissioner's Office had told me they knew nothing about Operation Pallial when I last tried to speak with them and that they had insisted their Office had very little to do with Police Investigations.
"Yes, I know that" she said, "But you're Not Welsh are you? You're only English."

Well I'm sorry to say, No I am not Welsh, but my son - the result of rape in a children's home in Wales and born in Wrexham Maelor Hospital is Welsh. Therefore, despite being "Only English" I shall continue to contact the staff of the Office of Keith Towler and the next time I do, I shall be suggesting they quash the tone of racism that seems to be breeding in their office and get back to the issues at hand - the systematic abuse of children in the care of people in their nonce-ridden "Country".

SECRET IMPRISONMENT OF WM AND CONDUCT OF HIS HONOUR JUDGE CARDINAL

That this House notes that an individual identified only as WM was imprisoned for five months for contempt by His Honour Judge Cardinal in case No. 11952926 of the Court of Protection for (inter alia) taking her father to see a solicitor in Birmingham and giving him a wooden cross; further notes that the rules in force at that date were similar in effect to the current civil procedure rule 81.28 which states that when someone is imprisoned for contempt in a secret court that the court should state '(a) the name of that person, (b) in general terms the nature of the contempt of court in respect of which the order of committal is being made and (c) the length of the period for which (she) is being committed'; further notes that this was not done and hence the decision is plainly unlawful; expresses concern that the acts of taking someone to a solicitor and providing a cross should result in imprisonment; further notes that even in Iran they do not jail people for taking legal advice; further notes that the same judge has a track record of threatening people with imprisonment or the removal of their children for talking to the hon. Member for Birmingham, Yardley; and calls on the Justice Select Committee to review the activities of the secret courts, looking at individual cases where the court has ordered committal whether or not suspended and the matter of judges threatening people to prevent them from talking to their Member of Parliament or to solicitors.

Kinsey's Paedophiles

Alfred Kinsey’s book ‘Sexual Behaviour in the Human Male’ (1948) was credited with kickstarting the sexual revolution.

What many people don’t know about Kinsey is that Chapter 5 of his book, which dealt with child sexuality, was compiled from the diaries of a predatory paedophile.

Rex King was a US government land examiner who used his work in Arizona and New Mexico as cover to abuse children. Kinsey’s mentor, Dr. Robert Dickinson, had taught King basic scientific methods to record the sexual abuse of children. King “molested at least 800 boys and girls, recording the abuse in explicit hand written diaries.”

Dickinson put Kinsey in contact with Rex King, who was given the codename Mr Green to protect him from identification and prosecution. Chapter 5 of Kinsey’s book contained records of King’s abuse of 317 infants and children from 2 months to 15 years old. To give an example King’s ‘research’, he would interpret a little girl’s floods of tears as a result of sexual abuse as evidence of orgasm.

Kinsey wrote to Rex King and said “I commend you on the research spirit which has led you to collect data over these many years”.

The Kinsey Institute have been responsible for creating sex education programs worldwide, and for training sex educators. Kinsey’s ‘research’ on childhood sexuality was also quoted extensively by the Paedophile Information Exchange in a document which attempted to influence the British government to reduce the age of consent to 4 years old.

Panorama documentary into the seedy world of Residential Childcare in the UK

HOME TRUTHS – In the 1970s and 1980s, an epidemic of abuse swept through Britain’s children’s homes. More than 100 care workers have already been convicted; more than 1,000 await trial. But no one has yet explained how such a grotesque scandal could have come about. Christian Wolmar has spent two years trying to do so. Here are some of his conclusions
Independent on Sunday, 8th October 2000
by Christian Wolmar
The scandal that unfolded in British children’s homes in the 1980s and 1990s is, on the face of it, inexplicable. A modern western nation with a tradition of caring for the weak – the birthplace of the welfare state – houses thousands of children in residential homes where they end up battered and sexually abused.
It is, according to a government minister in the Lords, “the greatest scandal of the 20th century”. Unfortunately, the minister’s view has not found much echo in society at large. The story has been largely ignored by the press. It has, too, been the subject of little academic research, despite the obvious need for a greater understanding. Successive governments have commissioned reports into particular incidents, but most of these have been at a local level. Yet the importance of understanding the wider history of these scandals cannot be overstated, for without such understanding, it is impossible to frame a policy to tackle the problem.
The scandals cover the breadth of the UK, from Aberdeen to North Wales, East Belfast to Plymouth; and while cases occur from the early 1960s into the 1990s, they predominate in the 1970s and 1980s.

Peter Righton was well-connected in child care circles, and several people he knew who worked in the field were later convicted of abuse. For example, there was Rod Ryall, with whom Righton had sat on various committees. Ryall was director of social services at Calderdale Council in West Yorkshire and was sentenced to six years for indecent assault on two boys. But the police failed to find evidence of a paedophile ring.
As with PIE, it is not Righton’s direct role that is important to this story but the influence he was able to wield over the social work profession and society at large. Righton was quite open about his views. In 1977, for example, in an article in Social Work Today, he was quoted as saying that sex between workers and residents in homes was OK. “Provided there is no question of exploitation, sexual relationships freely entered into by residents – including adolescents – should not be a matter for automatic enquiry. Nor should a sexual relationship between a resident and a worker be grounds for automatic dismissal.” The story was picked up in the Daily Mirror but no action was taken against him by NISW.

Rod Ryall took office of Assistant Director of Social Services in Calderdale in 1974, having left Birmingham.

In 1988, at Leeds Crown Court, Roderick Ryall admitted four offences of indecent assault, two of gross indecency and a serious sexual assault charge.
Ryall, 68, of Wheatley Drive, Mirfield, West Yorkshire, had denied 10 counts of indecent assault on three children in the 1960s and 1970s
Malcolm Osric Phillips
Phillips arrived in Calderdale from Birmingham in 1976.
He had been housemaster for four years at an establishment for boys aged 12-17.
He qualified on a training course for social workers and took up the post of principal at Skircoat Lodge in 1976.
He remained there until 1994.
He was dismissed by Calderdale Council in 1996.

Andrew James Shalders
Shalders arrived in Calderdale in 1976 from Birmingham where he had worked with Phillips, and took up the post of care worker at Skircoat Lodge.
18 months later he was appointed senior residential social worker.
In 1985 he was suspended after allegations were made by a number of boys but was reinstated a month later.
In 1988 he moved from Children s Services to Adult Services and worked with people with learning difficulties.
He was arrested in December 1997 and suspended by Calderdale Council.
Now, with all this knowledge, WY Police still insist there is no connection to be found between Calderdale Social Services and P.I.E

Human Rights Barrister says Lower Age of Consent

Age of consent should be lowered to 13 to stop persecution of old men and sex assault victims SHOULDN'T get anonymity, says leading barrister

  • Barbara Hewson is a barrister at Hardwicke chambers in London
  • She described Operation Yewtree arrests as a 'grotesque spectacle'
  • Claimed disgraced Stuart Hall's crimes were 'low level misdemeanors'
  • NSPCC said her 'outdated and simply ill-informed' views 'beggars belief'

The age of consent for sex should be lowered to 13-years-old in a bid to end the 'persecution of old men' in the wake of the Savile sex abuse scandal, a top female barrister has argued.
Lawyer Barbara Hewson described the arrests of celebrities such as Rolf Harris, Dave Lee Travis, Jim Davidson and PR guru Max Clifford under Operation Yewtree as a 'grotesque spectacle' adding it had 'nothing to do with justice or the public interest'.
Ms Hewson, a barrister at Hardwicke chambers in London, described the crimes committed by disgraced broadcaster Stuart Hall as 'low level misdemeanours' which would not normally be prosecuted.
In an article for online magazine Spiked, Ms Hewson, who specialises in reproductive rights, also calls for the end of anonymity for complainants.
Children’s charity the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) said to hear such 'outdated and simply ill-informed' views from a highly-experienced barrister 'beggars belief'.
Her comments come as Scotland Yard runs Operation Yewtree, an investigation split into three inquiries into allegations involving deceased presenter Jimmy Savile, involving Savile and others and those involving just others.

A number of high-profile figures have been arrested under Yewtree such as entertainer Rolf Harris, former pop star Gary Glitter, DJ Dave Lee Travis, comedian Jim Davidson and PR guru Max Clifford. All deny any wrongdoing.
Ms Hewson argues that 'the post-Savile witch-hunting of ageing celebs echoes the Soviet Union' and says that it is not difficult to see why some elderly defendants 'conclude that resistance is useless'.

She adds: 'But the low-level misdemeanours with which Stuart Hall was charged are nothing like serious crime.'
Ms Hewson continues: 'Ordinarily, Hall’s misdemeanours would not be prosecuted, and certainly not decades after the event.
'What we have here is the manipulation of the British criminal-justice system to produce scapegoats on demand. It is a grotesque spectacle.'
PR guru Max Clifford is among the celebrities to be arrested under Operation Yewtree in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex inquiryRolf Harris is among the celebrities to be arrested under Operation Yewtree in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex inquiry
DJ Dave Lee Travis is among the celebrities to be arrested under Operation YewtreeComedian Jim Davidson is among the celebrities to be arrested under Operation Yewtree in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex inquiry
'A grotesque spectacle': Lawyer Barbara Hewson criticised the arrests of celebrities including (clockwise from top left)  Rolf Harris, Max Clifford Dave Lee Travis and Jim Davidson, in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex inquiry

She continues: 'It’s time to end this prurient charade, which has nothing to do with justice or the public interest.'
The barrister adds: 'Instead, we should focus on arming today’s youngsters with the savoir-faire and social skills to avoid drifting into compromising situations, and prosecute modern crime.
'As for law reform, now regrettably necessary, my recommendations are remove complainant anonymity, introduce a strict statute of limitations for criminal prosecutions and civil actions and reduce the age of consent to 13.'
Ms Hewson argues that 'touching a 17-year-old’s breast, kissing a 13-year-old, or putting one’s hand up a 16-year-old’s skirt' are not comparable to cases such as the Ealing Vicarage rape or Fordingbridge gang rape and murders from 1986.
She adds: “Anyone suggesting otherwise has lost touch with reality.'
And Ms Hewson labels charities like the NSPCC and the National Association for People Abused in Childhood (Napac) as “moral crusaders' who have infiltrated Yewtree.
Peter Watt, director of the NSPCC helpline, said: “These outdated and simply ill-informed views would be shocking to hear from anyone but to hear them from a highly experienced barrister simply beggars belief.
A leading female lawyer claims the age of consent should be lowered to 13 in the wake of the Jimmy Savile sex inquiry
Crimes: Scotland Yard's Operation Yewtree, is split into three inquiries into allegations involving deceased presenter Jimmy Savile, involving Savile and others and those involving just others

'Stuart Hall has pleaded guilty to abusing children as young as nine years old, we think most people would agree that crimes of this nature are incredibly serious. Thankfully the law, and most people, are very clear on this matter.
'To minimise and trivialise the impact of these offences for victims in this way is all but denying that they have in fact suffered abuse at all. Any suggestion of lowering the age of consent could put more young people at risk from those who prey on vulnerable young people.
'And we must strongly defend the right for victims to remain anonymous and to ask for justice no matter when they choose to come forward.
'Many who are abused are bullied, blackmailed and shamed into staying silent, often well into adulthood. We must always be prepared to act no matter how long ago the abuse occurred.
'The actions of those who speak out also protect others from abuse and give confidence to other victims to come forward.'
Ms Hewson is regularly ranked as a Leading Junior by The Legal 500 in the fields of public and administrative law, human rights and civil liberties, and professional discipline and regulatory law, according to her chambers’ website.
She has won cases in the European Court of Human Rights, the Supreme Court and High Court of the Republic of Ireland.

On March 5th an article appeared in french  entitled  "Le réseau paedophile d'élite à Londres avait des ramifications aux Pays Bas"  or    The pedophile elite of London had branches in the Netherlands

The translation is below. unfortunately, as I did a direct translation, grammar is off, but I don't want to go altering the original to be fair.

In England, they  continue  to discover new paedophiles  within various institutions and in the  Government.  Even in Downing Street  and the royal family paedophiles   are found.   The Elm Guest House Scandal  demonstrates partly how the paedophile network operated

A week ago, we heard  that a Conservative MP (d. 1995) Geoffrey Dickens warned the Government  about  paedophiles  in the Thatcher Government .  Following this warning  he received direct threats against his life and was the victim of many burglaries.

From 1981 to 1985, Dickens tried to alert the Parliament on a paedophile network especially about the distribution  of child pornography.  But no action was taken.

However, he exposed  Peter Hayman, a diplomat and a member of MI6, as a paedophile who had escaped prosecution although he was caught with child porn and video equipment, In 1983, Dickens spoke of a paedophile network that involved personalities, "people in positions of power, influence and  responsibility," he threatened  these people  with exposure in Parliament.

In 1984, Dickens called on the Government to ban the Paedophile Information Exchange ban (PIE), a platform through which the paedophiles  exchanged photos, videos and  addresses . It is also suspected that the system was used to order children.  Dickens also mentioned the rape of children who were under  local authority care to  Leon Brittan.Dickens denounced the existence of  children's brothels  in Islington, a suburb of London (precisely where Tony Blair lived), and stated that forty children were victims. He gave everything to Scotland Yard, But the Police did nothing.

In 1984 the Police  were vaguely investigating  Elm Guest House, this chic hotel  in London, where children from orphanages were raped under the eye of cameras by MPs, judges, pop stars and others. Among the visitors Elm Guest House was just Sir Peter Hayman. The Police and  Authorities have never  conduct a proper  investigation into the Paedophile Ring  even though they were alerted. Dickens also sent some of the documents related to this case the interviewer Andrea Davison .  But in January 2010 the Welsh Police seized the evidence. Andrea Davison explained that at this time the cops were afraid that the paedophile VIP Ring would be  exposed due to the antics of Jimmy Savile. She also explained that Dickens gave the same folder Leon Brittan, whose involvement was not established at the time, but actually he was  one of the visitors Elm House. Andrea  Davison  had spoken with Dickens in the early 90s, after  "Leon Brittan has  been named  by a number of survivors. It was crucial for the paedophile ring  to have their own people   in high positions. "

It is also proved that the record of 50 pages, hand delivered by Dickens in 1984, had disappeared from the, Ministry of Home Affairs (home office)  when Leon Brittan was Home Secretary.Another copy of the  Dickens dossier  was destroyed by his  family after his death because his wife believed that said file was too sensitive to keep the family home. But copies exist,  but where they are.?

In early February, John Stingemore, former head master  of Grafton Close Home, an orphanage which had some of the children  [4] exploited in  Elm Guest House (which has since closed), was arrested along with his father Tony McSweeney  who was apparently  one of the guests at Elm Guest. In fact, some Teachers at  Grafton Close were pedophiles. Among them, Neil Kier, who oversaw the home. Terry Earland, who ran for his services to children in Richmond County, where was the Grafton Close, had just arranged that Kier was  a teacher  who cared  for children taken to  Elm Guest House on the day of the one and only police raid in 1982.

Today, the same Earland, which is nevertheless prominent in the investigation file on Elm Guest House, said he had twice tried to warn his colleagues and the police about sexual abuse in orphanages, he was in charge  of ...He also explained he had been warned in advance of the raid  into the guest house by the police itself.  Moreover, all the authorities were aware that the raid would take place, which may explain the Guest House  was almost empty  when the Police came.

[5] while the cops are waiting to fall on an orgy with thirty adults. However, in the neighbourhood everyone knew very well what was happening in the guest house. We talked about these members and artists who left the brothel at night.   You could hear the celebrations taking place there, we saw the lights ... Besides, they have not failed to complain to their representatives at the time, but today these politicians seem to suffer from amnesia.
Today, the police are forced reluctantly  to investigate, and in December 2012, a dozen victims told the police they were raped by men at Elm Guest House.   Peter Hatton Bornshin was one victim who has been placed in Grafton Close Children's home after the suicide of her mother,  He said he  had been repeatedly raped.   In 1994 at age 28, he committed suicide by taking an overdose of cocaine, too marked by the abuse he had suffered as a child. Yet he had been recognised as a victim and had given high compensation.
Another victim told cops that when placed close to Grafton in the 80s, and sent to Elm Guest House, where his abuse was filmed, he had  also been sent to Amsterdam as a child sex slave

Elm Guest House and Dutch networks!

It has been said that Elm Guest House was connected to the Spartacus network,Spartacus was a guide for pedophiles distributed in 150 countries.  Spartacus  gave the best addresses and even coupons,  and  was managed by John Stamford. And for some reason, Spartacus still exists.

According to the investigation of a social worker who had met Carole Kasir, the owner of Elm Guest house at the time, Glencross also edited the newsletter group gay particonservateur [6], CGHE Newsletter (Conservative Gay Homosexual Equality), which contained ads for Elm Guest House.  According to the same survey, and after Operation Fairbanks conducted by the police, another visitor to Elm Guest House was George Tremlett, former leader of the Greater London Council, alos former journalist and author, including a biography David Bowie. He often went there at the time the abuse took place.   Originally Elm Guest House guest house was normal. Then it became a meeting place for homosexuals at the instigation of several people, including John Rowe and mackerel pedophile Terry Dwyer. This would also be the ones who  introduced to Carole Kasir  Father Peter Glencross, the priest who hosted Hubert Vedrine and was a friend of his father.

According to the report, Glencross was the "business manager" Spartacus guide.During a search of his rectory of St. Leger des Vignes - where he was hosted Védrine few years [7] earlier and where he lived with his five-adopted sons in the early 90s, was found a quantity of child pornography  [8] including  child porn videos.   A  month after the raid another pedophile priest, "the pastor Doucé" Christ the Liberator, was murdered, most likely by the DGSE who came looking for  him (note that Doucé was a former loverPhilippe Carpentier, CRIESdont pillar was already discussed). Glencross was imprisoned and died shortly after its release in preventive heart attack. Apparently, it was Doucé who distributed the photos taken by Glencross in his studio.John Rowe was a pedophile who organised trips to the Netherlands for members The British VIP Monday Club, a group of MPs on the right wing of the Conservative Party [9],  some of whom were on the list of visitors Elm Guest House.

He said "MI5" in front of his name on the guest list Elm Guest House in connection with a Tricker Russell Howard, former English teacher convicted pedophile become a driver for a tour operator for English pedophiles  going to the Netherlands, where he eventually  took refuge after his conviction in England in the late 80s.

According to the survey of Marcel Vervloesem, the Belgian association Morkhoven [10] referred to the police, he was carrying children from England to the Netherlands with false passports probably obtained through contacts with the British Embassy in the Netherlands, to send them to  brothels.    In 1995,  he was sentenced to  15 months in prison for trafficking in child pornography and was sentenced with ten other people.  But he was relesed and  then resumed his  activities  finding apartments in Amsterdam for pedophiles to abuse children.

The Paedophile group  met children in Amsterdam and  took them to orgies of abuse which were filmed. We also note that John Stamford was in the  Netherlands in 1988  where he sold child porn videos and later  fled to Germany where the laws are more lax in this area.

Stamford was also convicted in Belgium, where he had come to retire near Antwerp, after Germany strengthened its laws on crimes against children.   Undercover reporters  were  offered two boys in Manila  by Stamford (called "the angel of the slums")  and films. The priest said  "if you're discreet, I guarantee that you will have as many boys as you want in the Philippines. "
In addition, four Swiss associations for the defence of children also continued in the late 90s. Finally, Amsterdam Tricker was part of the English group  of  organised paedophiles   which included Warwick Spinks.    In this group  was Derek Brown, who had spoken about  a snuff movie  made about  the sexual abuse and murder of  14year old  Jason Swift in 1985, for which a Small number of the group  was convicted. Brown was convicted in the Netherlands in 1989  for making child porn videos using Dutch and Moroccan children, and his  friends  Mark Enfield, who was also an accomplice in the murder of Jason Swift, but has never been questioned.
We'll be back very soon on this case of Jason Swift, which is far from clear. As for Warwick Spinks, one can say that has travelled extensively until his arrest in 2012 to return to the Czech Republic, he is involved in child porn video's  including snuff movies, and he became very wealthy.

In Amsterdam, he spent time  in gay bars where they also provided children, and was in contact with a lot of paedophiles from Britain and   Austria, as a René Osterwalder,  a Swiss Doctor who emigrated to Amsterdam,  he wanted Romanian children to  kill  in snuff movies [11]. He then opened  his own brothels where children were sold "behind the counter". Spinks was at the  crossroads of several networks, including Zandvoort, through its contacts with Norbert de Rijke and Lothar Glandorf.

Then some Barry Dwyer and Haddon have transformed the guest house into a  brothel for pedophiles.  Meanwhile, we learn that Kasir Haroun, former husband of Carole Kasir and owner of the guest house, is preparing to leave England to join his son in the United States. We also learn that the board of Richmond Council chose to pay a settlement payment to a   victim who complained rather than risk a trial, and so they used  the taxpayers' money to get them off the hook. Apparently, other civil proceedings took place but no criminal prosecutions.

Visitor List of Elm Guest House made following interviews with Carole Kasir:

  •  Stuart Bell, supplying boys knew Dwyer. Former MP, who died in October 2012. He began his political career in the early 80s. He was also spokesman for Northern Ireland from 1984 to 1987. In 2006, Bell became a knight of the Legion d'Honneur in France, Chirac [12]. In 2011, Bell took a stolen egg in the figure. The father of a boy who had been violated,  unsuccessfully sought to have Bell investigated.  The father found his son unconscious, but an  innocent man  was tried and convicted , but the boys father believed the criminal  was Stuart Bell.
  • Sir Anthony Blunt, MI5 Soviet double agent close to the royal family. When he was discovered, he shopped  fellow double agents so that its activities remain secret. But  why did  MI5 recruit him in 1939 while Blunt sympathies for the communists were known [13].Thatcher parliament in 1979? were embarrassed by Blunt and  he lost his title! He died in 1983 at the time of the incident in Elm Guest House. He was also a cousin of  Queen Elizabeth II Mother  who's  father worked for the British Embassy in Paris. Blunt  was also involved in the Kincora Boys Home in Belfast, where the secret services operated a brothel for paedophiles in order  to compromise various personalities.According to some, Blunt would have helped to stifle cases involving Jimmy Savile.

  • Peter Campbell, professor at Reading University, member of the Monday Club, he also created LGBTory in 1975. The group returned in 1991 under the name of TORCH(Tory Campaign for Homosexual Equality). It was he who inserted  Elm Guest House in the newsletter group gay Conservative.

[14] Folder on the police and said he lost is now in the hands of MI5 who do will probably nothing more. Throughout his career, the rumors that he loved the children have continued in the streets of Rochdale. From the beginning of his career, he has approached the field of children, supporting youth activities, schools ... He also created a home for boys from disadvantaged families, parents approached and said that their son would be better in the home. Funded with public money and private donations from businessmans the corner or the Rotary Club, the Cambridge House opened in 1962.Smith had his own set of keys and was out there with him.

Dickens also explained that he  had found his own name on a hit  list [2]

The IOP was created by Peter Righton, an  expert in England on child protection, and the treasurer of IOP was Charles Napier. A raid took place at the home of  Righton (real name Paul Pelham) in 1992, and police  found child porn videos, often hard core, shot in Amsterdam and  correspondence with paedophiles around the world, proving that had exploited, raped and prostituted children.  He recieved from the judge a  £900 fine.

Righton  also  founded a school for emotionally disturbed children.  Like  Napier, he had already been convicted in 1972 for sexual abuse of a minor, then he went to Sweden in 1978 where he was a teacher, then he left the country to become an English teacher in Cairo. There he boasted  he  sent  child porn videos by British diplomatic bags.Napier has also helped to establish a school in Turkey ... In 1995, he  was sentenced to  15 months in prison for a rape committed in the 80s.

RAID ON ELM GUEST HOUSE

At least seven boys.[5] Only a teenager more than sixteen years, two undercover cops and supposedly the owners of the guest house were there that day.[6] Whilst  members  numbered 171 in 1983.[7]

MITTERRAND CHILD PORN AND GLADDIO

When Vedrine was dropped by Mitterrand in Nièvre and he needed an address for the campaign of 1977. In this regard, Vedrine wrote in "Worlds of François Mitterrand": "But how, I asked [Mitterrand] candidate in a town where I knew no one? He would take care of me, he said, putting me in touch with friends, Maringe, which in turn put me in connection with the parish priest of Saint-Léger-des-Vignes, Father Glencross, an Englishman  failed in the Nivernais since the war, adored by his parishioners and very close to the leaders of the young team socialist Billoué Robert and Guy Leblanc. So it was done. " Védrine then won the elections, as well as 1983 and 1989.[8] This, in conjunction with the network called Toro Bravo, which has never been fully discovered. The network has about him again in 1996, after being found videos which appear of network members who have been left alone. 72 arrests ensued, including that of Bernard Alaptetite, filmmaker  of  child porn  in connection with another network called "Teen 71"in which there were more than 800 searches, 686 arrests, 103 indictments and 15 suicides Customers had aussichez Toro bravo magazine Spartacus them. Most have had amnesty and were suspended a year tard.Michel Caignet, a neo-Nazi pedophile who provided child porn videos tapes, near Doucé  said Gladio was part of this network. He also organized shoots from Colombia with minors. There, he collaborated with Jean-Manuel Vuillaume, professor at Paris VIII in video technology, who ran a brothel in Bogota.Caignet said he bought child porn videos  from  Vuillaume in 3500 by 5.000F original.

He is now in prison for life and was extradited from Netherlands to be with his  girlfriend  they kidnapped, raped and tortured children.[12] The fact that Bell is a convicted pedophile has probably not been a hindrance to the Legion of Honor, quite the contrary.[13] Some say that Ted Rothschild who had recommended, and Ted Rothschild was a spy for Israel.[14]

Notes:

[1] Dickens also explained that they had found his name on the black list a hitman.

[2] The IOP was created by Peter Righton, English expert in child protection, and the treasurer was Charles Napier. A raid took place at Righton (real name Paul Pelham) in 1992 and was found pédopornos films often hard core, shot in Amsterdam as well as a correspondence with paedo worldwide, which showed that had exploited, raped and prostitute children. To do this, Righton took £ 900 fine. We also learned that the lover Righton ran a school for emotionally disturbed children. As in Napier, he had been convicted in 1972 for sexual abuse of a minor, then went to Sweden in 1978 where he was a teacher, then left the country to become an English teacher in Cairo. There he boasted to send videos by British diplomatic bags. Napier also helped to establish a school in Turkey ... In 1995, he made 15 months in prison for a rape committed in the 80s. In this regard, Vedrine wrote in "Worlds of François Mitterrand" "But how, I asked him [Mitterrand] be a candidate in a town where I knew no one? He would take care of, 'he said, putting me in touch with friends, Maringe, which in turn put me in relation to the parish priest of Saint-Léger-des-Vignes, Father Glencross, an English original failed in the Nivernais since the war, adored by his parishioners and very close to the leaders of the young socialist team Billoué Robert and Guy Leblanc. He also organized the shooting from Colombia with minors. There, he collaborated with Jean-Manuel Vuillaume, teacher at Paris VIII in video technology, who ran a brothel in Bogota. Caignet said he bought videos pédopornos to Vuillaume to 3,500 to 5,000 F per original.

[9] So right extremists and packed in 2001, the Monday Club was suspended from the Conservative Party. In fact, it was the beachhead of English neo colonialist movement, which even made a sort of coup in 70 years against the government of Harold Wilson.

[10] Association who discovered the so-called Roma Zandvoort CD in which it has more than 80,000 images of children being abused. The survey was smothered in some countries and has not even started in others, such as France. We remember especially the substitute Yvon Tallec declaring JT 20 hours needed "minimize" the scope of the LARC so the entire network is behind, and I hope to return to this dark character very soon.

[11] It is now in prison for life and was extradited from the Netherlands with his girlfriend to have abducted, raped and tortured children.

[12] The fact that Bell is a notorious pedophile probably has not been a hindrance to the Legion of Honor, quite the contrary.

[14] Barry Fitton, one of his victims said they had never believed him when he spoke of rapes committed by Smith. Alan Neal, another victim of Smith in the 60s, said that some of his victims had caused the death of force pass for liars. In 1969, a survey focused on charges of eight boys from Cambridge House Hostel (created by Smith) in Rochdale denounced rape by Smith between 1961 and 1969. In 1997, another victim of Smith talking to the cops of rape in Cambrige House between 1965 and 1968 and in 1999 it was further rapes committed between 1962 and 1965 are reported. There has never been any prosecution.

On July 11, 1998, the NGO Morkhoven flushes the godfather of micro networks Ganumedes (88) and Temse / Madeira (98). Gerrit Ulrich did produce photographs and films of real crimes against children, which he sells via the Internet to pornographic magazines, as from Zandvoort, Holland. He hands over 93,081 samples to the NGO. Three months later, Holland has more reason to attend the first international police operation to fight this new type of criminality...

In 1996, San Jose, California, a girl aged 10 years was abused by the father of a friend of hers, at whose home she had spent the night. The man had one of the first webcam, which at the time was considered a "sophisticated computer equipment for filming and live broadcasting of films via the Internet." The investigation leads to the "Orchid", the first known network of online and real-time images of real crime on children. They are twenty-three members, approved by the descriptions of sexual abuse perpetrated on children personally, in a password secure chat room. They exchange photographs, some of which are made with the first digital cameras connected to computers.
The abuse on the little girl had been broadcasted live in nine American states and four countries: Finland, Canada, Australia and England. The youngest victim, aged five, had been filmed while undergoing specific abuse requested by at least eleven men.
Three British members of the Orchid network led Scotland Yard to "Wonderland", a network of 180 members spanning 46 countries. Every candidate at the club must be appointed, approved and made from 10,000 photographs of actual crimes different from those of other members. Each member pays a minimum fee of $ 100 per month to access a file encrypted by the network with a code developed by the former KGB. The system is identical to that of Zandvoort: the photographs are available per batch, whose price depend on the seriousness of the crime photographed, to be published in porn magazines.
In London, a new unit called "British National Crime Squad" rises with the help of Interpol, the U.S. Customs, the British National Criminal Intelligence Service, the first international police operation, which is code-named "Cathedral", with only twelve of the forty-six countries involved: Belgium, France, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Italy, Great Britain, Australia and the United States. Holland is excused, since the NGO Morkhoven had dismantled the Zandvoort network few months earlier.
On September 2, 1998, the British National Crime Squad coordinates 1,500 police officers, who arrested 107 members of the Wonderland network simultaneously to 4:00 am. They seized 750,000 paedophile pictures and 1,800 videos, in which 1,263 children were featured - but only 17 have been identified. The report of the Australian National Crime Authority specifies that the Wonderland network is linked to local and international paedophile organizations, including the network Spartacus, itself a partner of the Zandvoort network. The survey showed that both the Wonderland and Zandvoort networks sold the production of Jean-Manuel Vuillaume, photographer and video producer paedophile pictures for the network Toro Bravo, active between France and Colombia.
We pay tribute to Marcel Vervloesem, who has dismantled the Zandvoort network on the behalf of the NGO Morkhoven unarmed, without violence or any other means than his strength of conviction. He has, by his sole work, exposed over 93,000 criminal photos and videos, while the 1500 police officers of Operation Cathedral have only contributed to the seizure of 500 of them each.

Wonderland sentences a 'joke'

BBC - Wednesday, 14 February, 2001, 09:27 GMT

Club members 'paid' an entry fee of 10,000 images
Child rights groups in the UK have criticised the Wonderland Club jail sentences as a "joke" which sends out the wrong message to paedophiles.
Seven British men, who peddled child pornography on the internet, were jailed for between 12 and 30 months each on Tuesday.
Under laws applying at the time the men were charged, the maximum jail term for each was three years.
But a coalition of seven UK charities including the NSPCC, Barnardo's, ChildLine, the Children's Society, the National Children's Bureau, the NCH and the NCVCCO have said they are "deeply disappointed" by the sentences.
The charities had hoped for longer jail terms under legislation introduced last year, which raised the maximum sentence for offences relating to the possession of child pornography to ten years.

"Child sex abuse is always a serious issue, but this sentencing sends out a contrary message to child sex offenders who use the internet," said NCH internet consultant John Carr.
"We viewed the change in the law as a recognition that these offences pose a very serious threat to the safety of children," he said.
While praising the efforts of police in tackling internet crime and child sex abuse, he said the sentences would mean that paedophiles would continue to thrive on the web.
Director of the child protection charity Kidscape, Dr Michelle Elliott, said: "You would get a longer sentence for accumulating masses of parking tickets or for burglary.
"I am absolutely stupefied by this leniency. It sends a clear message that these crimes are not being taken seriously."

But Detective Chief Inspector Alex Wood said police had expected the sentences, as the judge had to give credit for the men pleading guilty and sparing the time and expense of a trial.
He said their ground-breaking investigation had brought forward changes in policing of paedophiles and legislation around the world, including the UK's tougher stance.
"Paedophiles appearing in court today will receive much more severe sentences because of this legislation," he said.

International operation

The Wonderland Club paedophile ring was smashed by Operation Cathedral, the largest international operation to be co-ordinated by the National Crime Squad in London.
Raids were staged around the world on 2 September 1998, leading to 107 arrests across the UK, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and the United States.

An enormous amount of pictures were uncovered from the defendants' homes, as well as computerised videos depicting children suffering degrading sexual abuse. Passing sentence at Kingston Crown Court, Judge Kenneth Macrae told the seven men: "You directly or indirectly exploited the most vulnerable in our society. Children represent the future. They should be cared for and protected."

Convictions

Ian Baldock, 31, from St Leonards, East Sussex was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Antoni Skinner, 36, from Cheltenham, Gloucestershire was jailed for 18 months.
Gavin Seagers, 29, a Sea Cadets youth leader, from Dartford, Kent was jailed for two years.
Ahmet Ali, 30, from Tulse Hill, south London, was jailed for two years.
Frederick Stephens, 46, from Hayes, west London, was jailed for a year.
Andrew Barlow, 25, from Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, was jailed for two years.
David Hines, 30, of Bognor Regis, West Sussex was jailed for two-and-a-half years.
Gary Salt was given a 10 year sentence in 1998 for raping several children and distributing images through Wonderland.
Stephen Ellis40, a computer salesman, from Norwich, was arrested along with eight other British-based members of the Wonder-land Club. He was charged in November 1998 with conspiracy to distribute indecent images of children. Three days after his first court appearance in January 1999, he gassed himself in his car.

Baldock and Hines were placed on the sex offenders' register for life. The others were ordered to be kept on the register for seven years.

All of the children involved were under the age of 16 and in one case the child was only three months.
More than 1,263 children were featured in the pictures - but only 17 have been identified - six in the UK, seven in the United States, one in Portugal, one in Chile, and one in Argentina.
An album has been created and posted on Interpol's website to help police forces from around the world trace the victims of abuse.

Main Street Monsters

The Wonderland Club took its name from Lewis Carroll and its alleged clientele from Main Street, U.S.A.--including an engineer from Portland, Maine, a scientist in New Britain, Conn. Other suspected members lived in sleepy towns like Broken Arrow, Okla.; Lawrence, Kans.; and Kennebunk, Maine. And just as the author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland had a scandalous predilection for photographing half-clad little girls, these seemingly solid citizens--and as many as 200 other men (and a few women) who belonged to Wonderland--shared an unspeakable secret: the codes to a dark channel in cyberspace. After a raid coordinated with 13 other countries last week, law-enforcement officials charged that Wonderland and its Wondernet operated the largest, most sophisticated ring of child pornographers yet found. "This is a dangerous, dangerous crowd," says Glenn Nick of the U.S. Customs CyberSmuggling Center in Sterling, Va. "They're dangerous because they can be in any neighborhood."
"One of the requirements for membership is a stockpile of thousands of images of graphic child pornography," said U.S. Customs commissioner Raymond Kelly last week as he announced that Operation Cheshire Cat--the feds' counter-allusion from Carroll--had resulted in the arrest of five men and the seizure of dozens of computers believed to contain more than 500,000 images of children. Authorities in Europe and Australia locked up 49 people and planned dozens more arrests. Out of the personal stockpiles, Kelly explained, members traded "in the most vile pornography imaginable over the Internet. The images depict everything from sexual abuse to the actual rape of children"--some as young as 18 months.
Some club members in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia, says agent Nick, owned production facilities and transmitted live child-sex shows over the Web. Club members directed the sex acts by sending instructions to the producers via Wondernet chat rooms. "They had standards," Nick says grimly. "The only thing they banned was snuff pictures, the actual killing of somebody." According to Nick, a couple of members were barred because they trafficked in those pictures.
The case grew out of a 1996 Customs bust of a San Jose, Calif., child-pornography ring called the Orchid Club. A pedophile who began cooperating with agents identified an online purveyor of child porn in England. The information was passed to British investigators, who arrested four child exploiters and molesters. In May, London tipped U.S. Customs to the existence of the Wonderland Club. U.S. agents tried surfing into Wondernet but failed to gain entry. They discovered that after the Orchid Club busts, Wonderland, whose members include computer programmers and hardware specialists, deployed an imposing system of codes and encryption. "They took full advantage of all the technological capabilities of the Internet," Nick says. "We couldn't get in without tipping our hand." But they could lurk, like Carroll's elusive Cheshire Cat, in the cybershadows outside the Wondernet, watching transactions until they penetrated the veil of screen names and obtained the real names and addresses of 34 U.S.-based club members.

The raids had dramatic moments. A suspect living in a trailer park in St. Charles, Mo., was arrested after agents found, along with child porn, firearms and a stash of the black powder used to make bombs. According to Customs agents, a law student in New York City threw his hard drive into a neighbor's yard (it was later discovered by a police dog). Federal sources say an alleged club member in Allen, Texas, committed suicide last week after being served with a search warrant.

But other suspects have quickly admitted their involvement and provided their pass codes, screen names and cyberlinks to investigators. With those keys and decrypted data from seized computers, agents expect to make dozens more arrests. So far, the evidence suggests that Wonderland reached into 47 countries. The police services of those nations are being invited to join the next round of raids. At the same time, officials are looking for the ring's young victims. Customs has set up a 24-hour child-porn hot line, 800-BE-ALERT.
No one is claiming to be able to purge the Net completely of evil. As a result of the crackdown, says agent Nick, "I'm sure there are a lot of hard drives being reformatted throughout the world." But, he says, "we certainly disrupted a network, and with any luck, we'll be able to pick off a few of them." His warning to parents: "You can't just put a computer in your kids' bedroom, hook it up to the Internet and expect them not to run into trouble. That's like dropping your kids off at the playground at 7 a.m. and not coming back till 7 p.m. Anything can happen to them." As Operation Cheshire Cat shows, there are monsters hiding in plain sight, right in the middle of Main Street.

Renewed hunt for Wonderland victims

BBC - Wednesday, 16 January, 2002, 14:35 GMT

Police trying to identify children in photographs circulated by the Wonderland Club paedophile ring are stepping up their hunt by using the latest facial mapping technology.
The National Crime Squad (NCS) has found just 18 of the 1,200 youngsters featured in the pornographic images circulated by the club's members.

But the team which smashed the ring is hoping a £500,000 pilot project based on facial mapping will help them find many more.

The NCS is working with a Canadian company called Imagis to develop the new system, which should allow them to match photographs of the same child taken at different times and in different places.

The few computer programmes currently available to police investigating paedophile activity concentrate on identifying the backgrounds of photographs in a bid to link them to the perpetrators.
The NCS's new programme will concentrate far more on identifying the child.
Interpol
Seven British members of the Wonderland Club were jailed in February 2001 for between 12 and 30 months each.
Detective Superintendent Peter Spindler, who was in overall charge of the original Wonderland operation, said: "Our operational priority was always to protect children from abuse and we undertook to use the material seized to further this aim.
"We believe we now have access to the best available tool which clearly has the potential to be used internationally."
Following Operation Cathedral, which uncovered Wonderland in 1998, detectives seized 750,000 images of abuse.

Wonderland Club members communicated on the internet

These were cleaned up and sanitised and more than 1,200 clearly identifiable children's faces were distributed to all UK police forces and international forces through Interpol."To date we have only been able to make 18 positive identifications," Mr Spindler said in a report to the NCS Service Authority.
"The multi-agency pilot project involved Child Protection Teams, Social Services and education departments but was found to be very labour intensive and time consuming.
International database
"Valuable resources were diverted from direct child protection activity by the high number of `false positive' identifications."
The NCS was at the forefront of another international paedophile crackdown, Operation Landmark, in November last year, and from that was able to add another 60,000 obscene images to its database.
NCS director general Bill Hughes and National Criminal Intelligence Service director general John Abbott want the G8's Lyon Group and Europol to create a single international victim database hosted by Interpol.
"It is our intention as the owners of the world's largest collection of paedophilic data to deliver the international solution to this problem," said Mr Spindler.
After the completion of the facial mapping project in the UK, a feasibility study will be carried out for its use internationally.

Jimmy Savile - Not Protected by Police

A West Yorkshire Police report has found "no evidence" Jimmy Savile was protected from arrest or prosecution by his relationship with the force.
But the review found there was an "over-reliance on personal friendships" between Savile and some officers.
Hundreds of allegations of abuse by the former BBC entertainer emerged after his death in October 2011.
The police said the report would be passed to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
The West Yorkshire Police review, named Operation Newgreen, comes after a report by Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) highlighted failings by forces across Britain.

Mother Forces 14 yr old To Have DIY Artificial Insemination

A woman who forced her 14-year-old adoptive daughter to conceive a baby using a sperm donor has been jailed for five years.
The unnamed child, who had a miscarriage, was made to inseminate herself to provide her “domineering” mother with a baby after she was stopped from adopting more children.
The American woman, living in the UK, forced her daughter to carry out the procedure and the teenager said she “wasn’t brave enough” to say she didn’t want a baby.
She told a court, that sat in secret: ‘I was relieved and happy when I became pregnant, but scared that I would miscarry. Feelings of gratitude for my adoption influenced how I behaved.”
She added: “I wasn’t brave enough to tell her I didn’t want to do it.
“I thought from a selfish point of view, ‘If I do this, maybe she will love me more’.”
The 47-year-old mother, who had already adopted three children as babies from other countries, received the jail sentence after admitting child cruelty.
Social workers were told three times of fears about the mother’s behaviour but found no cause from concern on each occasion, the court heard.
The mother put the girl through a “degrading” and “humiliating” ordeal, making her inseminate herself seven times over two years in her bedroom.
She also was forced to use painful acidic douches and eat a special diet - because her mother said this would make her more likely to have a girl.
The girl also told how her sister was abused by her mother, speaking of regular smacking, pouring water over her head when she wet herself and tying her to a chair when she would not sit still.
