Cyril Smith Admitted Crimes

Cyril Smith confessed 30 years ago to spanking boys and conducting intimate “medical examinations” on them but was allowed to remain as a Liberal MP.
Lord Steel, the former Liberal leader who has defended the party’s refusal to hold an inquiry into sex abuse allegations, said on Tuesday that he had confronted Smith about his “unusual” behaviour with teenage boys at a hostel in Rochdale.
An article in Private Eye in 1979 alleged that Smith, who was secretary of the Cambridge House boys hostel, put teenagers across his knee, pulled down their trousers and spanked them as a “punishment” in the 1960s.
Lord Steel said: “I asked Cyril Smith about it. I was half expecting him to say it was all wrong, and I would have been urging him to sue to save his reputation. To my surprise he said the report was correct.
“He had some kind of supervisory role, I don’t know what it was, in these institutions in Rochdale which he reckoned entitled him to be involved in corporal punishment.”

GMP Press Release: Ray Teret

Detective Chief Inspector Graham Brock said: “After decades of hiding behind the veneer of being a distinguished radio presenter, Ray Teret has finally been exposed as the manipulative and dangerous sexual predator that he is.
“I do not wish to pass any further comment about Ray Teret. Instead I want to focus on his victims who suffered for so many years. Teret cast a dark shadow over their lives and I know from speaking to them personally how devastating the effects of his abuse have been. They have courageously relived their ordeal at court and should be applauded for having the bravery to speak out and bring this man to justice for his appalling crimes.
“Since his trial began, we have received four new complaints about Teret and our officers will now be investigating these fresh allegations. For obvious reasons I cannot go into great detail about those complaints.
“Much has been made in the media of the ‘Savile effect’ and how that has encouraged greater reporting of historic sexual abuse. And it is true that the publicity about Savile prompted the women who suffered at Teret’s hands to come forward. But what I hope people take from all this publicity is that if you suffered abuse in the past, then please report it. We will listen to everything you have to say without prejudice, and take your complaints with the utmost seriousness. We have specially trained officers who can provide help and support you through the court process which we know can be upsetting.
“To us, it does not matter who your attacker is, whether they are someone in the public eye or someone just living on your street. We will tirelessly pursue offenders regardless of their status so please do not suffer in silence and tell us if you have been abused.”

Pentagon Child Porn Epidemic

$
0
0
(FORBES) - Last week the IRS decided to award Bradley Birkenfeld his $104 million dollar share for helping bust UBS bank. Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) and his staff were instrumental. Senator Grassley vowed to delay pending Department of Treasury nominations if the IRS Whistleblower Program, he wrote the legislation in 2006, continued to be mismanaged.
This powerful voice from Iowa has been a beacon in the storm during an Obama Administration that has targeted whistleblowers and prevented accountability as never before.  The Pentagon is also under Senator Grassley’s fire for failing to examine 1,700 of the 5,200 reports of employees doing child porn.  The Pentagon claimed it “wasn’t a priority.” Senator Grassley and his staff have made it one. The closed investigation into wide-spread use of child porn at the Pentagon is now re-opened.
There is a national crisis of federal employees engaged in the child porn industry and a related epidemic at the state level.  I’ve documented two states,Vermont and Maine, that appear to be running state protected child trafficking rings with evidence of cops, judges, lawyers, clergy and government employees covering for each other. This kind of racketeering creates powerful, and extremely profitable, pedophile rings.
Money drives the crime. It is estimated that a criminal willing to molest a child in front of a live webcam can earn $1,000 a night. In Kittery Maine, at the “Danish Health Club,” one bust yielded $6.1 million in “door fees” over a five year period with “prostitutes” earning $12 million. Pimps’ earnings were not reported. The “door man” was a retired police officer whose wife worked in back. This bust happened because of one hard-working IRS agent, Rod Giguere.
An estimated $1.4 billion has been collected by the IRS’s Whistleblower program since 2006; $464 million collected in 2010 but only $48 million in 2011. Half of all global child porn is produced in America.  Ten new images of children are posted daily.  Estimates of the global profits from child porn range from $3-20 billion.  Imagine what the IRS Whistleblower program could collect if they focused on child trafficking as Agent Rod Giguere did in Maine.
The Department of Justice (DOJ)’s Child Exploitation and Obscenities unit has been, by many accounts, totally disabled under US Attorney General Eric Holder. Mr. Holder even refused to prosecute his own Assistant United States Attorney caught doing child porn on DOJ computers. The IRS wants 4,000 new agents and a $300 million budget to enforce ObamaCare. Instead, these resources should be allocated, entirely, for an IRS Child Exploitation & Trafficking Unit.
With so many police, judges, clergy, state and federal employees across America involved in the child porn industry Americans should be able to turn to the IRS’s Whistleblower program. Richard Weber, Chief of IRS’s Criminal Division in Washington DC, is one point of contact. Apparently, the IRS cares about trafficked children. That’s good news because America’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, does not.
Child trafficking and porn are the fastest growing crimes in America. With billions being laundered in black money it makes solid economic sense for the IRS to focus on the child porn industry.  Eric Holder’s Department of Justicehas demonstrated they have no interest in prosecuting pedophiles, not even their own. The IRS should be given substantial resources to compensate for DOJ’s disgraceful failure. American tax-payers, not to mention America’s children, will reap huge rewards.
Perhaps Senator Grassley will raise his powerful voice in support.

13 Year Old Charged, Selling Children For Sex

$

A 13-year-old girl was arrested twice on suspicion of selling other children for sex, according to shocking data revealed by police.
The girl was arrested on suspicion of causing or inciting a child aged between 13 and 17 into prostitution or pornography in 2011 - and again for doing so ‘for gain’ later the same year.
No further action was taken, according to figures released by Greater Manchester Police following a Freedom of Information request by the M.E.N.
A 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of causing or inciting a child aged between 13 and 17 into prostitution or pornography in 2009.
A 16-year-old girl was arrested in similar circumstances the same year. Both were released with no further action.
The cases are among 379 arrests for prostitution-related offences in Greater Manchester between 2008 and 2014. A large number related to children.
In total, 34 people were arrested for causing or inciting children aged 13 to 17 into prostitution or pornography. The majority faced no further action, some remain on bail and some were cautioned.
Three people were arrested for the same offence, but against children under 13.
Another 14 people were arrested for ‘controlling’ a child aged 13 to 17 involved in prostitution.
Chris Bull
Ann Coffey MP

Four men were charged with allegedly paying for sex with underage girls aged between 13 and 15. There were also two charges allegedly relating to girls aged between 16 and 17.
There was a case listed of a 41-year-old man allegedly paying for sex with a girl under 13.
And there were seven arrests for arranging or facilitating prostitution or pornography of children aged between 13 and 17. It is not known from the data what happened to the charged suspects.
Stockport MP Ann Coffey, who released her report on child sexual exploitation becoming ‘the norm’ in Greater Manchester in October, is calling on ministers to consign the ‘shameful’ and ‘outdated’ phrase ‘child prostitution’ to history by removing it from all legislation.
She argues there is ‘no such thing’ as a child prostitute - only a sexually abused or exploited child.
Ms Coffey, who branded the information ‘shocking’, added: “It seems hard to believe that as recently as three years ago, children as young as 13 were still being arrested in connection with prostitution-related offences.
“These children are not offenders, they are victims.
"It is also outrageous that men were being arrested for paying for the sexual services of a children, instead of being arrested for rape or sexual assault of a child.
“To arrest children in connection with prostitution shows a complete lack of understanding of child sexual exploitation. We need a sea change in attitudes towards child sexual exploitation.”

I am determined that all those who sexually exploit children face the full force of the law, says crime chief

Police and crime commissioner Tony Lloyd, who is backing Ann Coffey’s campaign, said he ‘insists’ GMP is able to justify all cases where a child is arrested.
He added: “The police have to distinguish, particularly with children and vulnerable people, when a young child could well be the victim although may appear initially to be the perpetrator.
"The power of arrest should be used appropriately on those who target children.
“But it could be justified if it is needed to prevent harm to that individual or to others.
"I am determined that all those who sexually exploit children face the full force of the law.”
Tony Lloyd
Det Supt Joanne Rawlinson, of GMP’s Public Protection Division, said the term ‘child prostitution’ is ‘widely recognised’ to be ‘a completely inappropriate term to describe young people coerced into sexual activity’ - and that it is no longer used by officers.
She added: “Any decision to arrest a young person for an offence of inciting a child into sexual activity would be made on a case-by-case basis, but with regards to the full circumstances that are known at the time.
“As part of the investigation we would also examine whether the person arrested was themselves a victim of any form of abuse.
“We take reports of incitement of children into sexual activity very seriously and ensure that safeguarding measures are in place for all children concerned.”

Gary Glitter Guilty, Again.

Gary Glitter has been found guilty of historical sex abuse against three young girls between 1975 and 1980.
The 70-year-old former singer - real name Paul Gadd - was convicted of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one of having sex with a girl under the age of 13.
Gadd, who denied all charges, was acquitted of three other counts at Southwark Crown Court, London.
He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on 27 February.
'Ashamed'
The court heard one victim was under the age of 10 when Gadd, of Marylebone, central London, tried to rape her.
She said the singer had crept into her bed as she slept and that afterwards she had felt "ashamed and dirty". She only managed to escape by moving away and then wrapping herself in sheets and blankets.
The victim told the trial she had been to the star's mansion a number of times as a child and that after the attack, drunken Gadd had fallen asleep in the bed while she locked herself in a bathroom.
He was cleared of two counts of indecent assault and one count of administering a drug or other thing in order to facilitate sexual intercourse.
The jury of seven women and five men had been considering their verdicts since Wednesday.
Gadd was the first person to be arrested as part of Operation Yewtree.

REBECCA TELEVISION has withdrawn from the Macur Review of the 1996-1999 North Wales Child Abuse Tribunal.
In a letter to Home Secretary Theresa May, Editor Paddy French expressed concern at the delay in publishing a report.
It’s more than two years since the Review was set up.
French said: “the passage of time has seriously eroded my confidence in the process.”
Prime Minister David Cameron announced the review in November 2012.

It followed the BBC Newsnight report which identified Lord McAlpine as a paedophile involved in the North Wales child abuse scandal.
When the allegation was later shown to have been a mistake, the government decided to carry on with the Review.
In November 2012 Justice Secretary Chris Grayling appointed Lady Justice Macur to lead it.
Today, 26 months later, her report is unfinished and is unlikely to be complete before the election …

David Challinor Trial Halted

$

0
The trial of a social worker, charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy at a children's home back in the late 1980s has been dramatically halted by the judge.
Judge David Hale discharged the jury from returning a verdict in the case of David Challinor this evening and said that the state of the identification evidence meant it was not safe for the trial to proceed.
He agreed to a defence submission that there was no case to answer.
It was the second piece of drama in the case today - because earlier the judge had to discharge a member of the jury because of what she had put on Facebook.
The judge said that it had been discovered that the woman, when first summonsed to jury service, had said so on her Facebook page - but had said that if she was involved in the trial of a sex offender then she would convict him.
It was agreed that the trial should continue with 11 jury members - but this afternoon it came to a complete halt.
The judge, sitting at Mold Crown Court, adjourned the case until the morning for the prosecution to decide whether it wished to appeal against his decision to the court of appeal.
He said that it was a discrete narrow point which had no bearing on any other case.
But he said that in his statement of complaint to the police, the complainant said that the care worker responsible for abusing him was nick-named Tiny, also known as Haystacks, after the wrestler Giant Haystacks.
In his evidence, the complainant said that he got that wrong in his police statement, and said that Tiny and Haystacks were two different members of staff.
However, later, when cross examined, he said that Haystacks was also known as Tiny.
Judge Hale said that seriously troubled him.
It was a very serious allegation and there was no other identification evidence.
The complainant was giving his evidence from behind a screen and if he saw the defendant he might say "that's not him."
He did not know the name of the man who abused him, and there was a real risk of a wrongful conviction.
The judge said that he was not sufficiently sure that the reference that it was the member of staff who allowed them to clay pigeon shoot who was responsible, took it any further.
The complainant had said that the member of staff also watched him in the shower but it was the defence case that he did not do shower duty.
Judge Hale said that other issues being put forward by the defence such as getting the defendant's age wrong, the delay in reporting the matter and other issues were clearly matters for the jury.
But the identification evidence meant that a jury could not be sure that the person he was talking about was the defendant and there was a risk of the wrong person being convicted.
"I am going to discharge you from giving a verdict in this case.
"As far as you are concerned, that is the end of the proceedings," he said.
Challinor was told to return in the morning to hear whether the proceedings were over or whether the prosecution wished to appeal.
David Challinor, 54, denied a charge of indecently assaulting the boy aged 15 - now a man in his 40s -  at the Bryn Alyn Home near Wrexham where he was a staff member.
Challinor, of Pinfold Lane, North Hall, arrested as part of Operation Pallial -  launched to investigate allegations of historic sexual abuse in children's homes -  told police in his interview that he would never do such a thing.
Arrested in October 2013, Challinor told police "I have not done anything".
He agreed that he was known as "Tiny" because of his large build, but denied that he was ever called "Haystacks".
Challinor said that he had not been aware of children being abused at the home at the time, and only found out about it later.
But he had not been involved and would never do such a thing, he said.
He said that he was shocked by the allegations. He had been employed as a social worker for 30 years and as far as he was concerned had a good relationship with young people in his care.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

In the USA, April is child abuse prevention month.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month is a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, and to promote the social and emotional well-being of children and families. During the month of April and throughout the year, communities are encouraged to share child abuse and neglect prevention awareness strategies and activities and promote prevention across the country. In recognition of the 40th anniversary of the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, we have designed a historical timeline of significant moments in child abuse prevention in the United States.

I think it may be time the UK started looking at something similar.

Then I suggest you have evidence to back it up.

Recently, one Huddersfield resident was sent to a Mental Health facility for a 6-months assessment after he named several innocent people as paedophiles.
Even more dangerous was the fact one of the women he named, is pregnant with her fourth child, potentially putting all 4 children at risk from the state, had he not been stopped.

This kind of accusation costs lives. Mob mentality kicks in when parents believe there is a paedo in their area and they will do anything to protect their own.
